If you want to protect your eyes exam them regularly and make sure you see your optometrist. Nowadays they can monitor your eyes with digital images and other simple tests to perform. They have high tech equipment on premises as well which can test and measure for symptoms of eye problems. The digital images that optometrists capture can even be emailed to patients so that they can keep their own records in case they move or change doctors. This happens often nowadays when people move or decide to switch practitioners. Records can easily be kept and it can help the next doctor to see what the patient has experienced in their history. Make sure you keep records safe and in away from the public as its important for your own privacy. And if possible give access to the records to a family member or friend in case of an emergency. This way they can access the records on demand.
